Catching Up, Beginning Again

My goodness, I must admit that I haven’t done a very good job of keeping up with this blog.  You know what they say about good intentions, so I’m sorry that this has been so empty lately.

Sometimes when I see a blog that has gone dormant, or been left with an old post, I can’t help but wonder what has happened to the author.  Perhaps it depends upon our own emotional makeup at the time, but I find myself wondering what event or focus has replaced the passion or written intentions I see on a page.  Is something wrong for that individual?  Have they lost interest, or simply taken some time for other priorities?

And then I remember that life simply happens.

We are all busy in many different ways, and so often the expectations we build for ourselves- and others – are difficult to live up to.  Yet that is okay.   If not for our goals and expectations, we might not ever begin the journey.

My own life has been fine.  I was very busy over the last year with family and finishing a graduate degree.  Other writings have taken precedence, perhaps with the realization that at some point- we simply cannot do it all.  At least not at the same time!

But it hasn’t changed my focus, or passion, or intentions.  I am thankful for the opportunity and joy in my life, and that of others that I meet and share this journey with along the way.   And I will continue to look for ways to give back.

Our nation and many individuals face great challenge right now.  I remember a time years go when we faced similar challenges.  But we overcame them, and moved on.  Winter is almost over, and I find myself excited for the coming spring.  Like the new growth and beginnings of spring, I believe we can begin again as well.
